Funding

On the basis of the current evidence, your experience and the resources we have provided through the Active Hospital toolkit, why not put together a funding bid for local funding?

There are many other places to look for funding, here are a few ideas:

  • Are there opportunities in your area for submission of business case proposals to your Hospital Trust, Local Integrated care systems (ICSs), Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) or Local sustainability and transformation partnerships (STPs)?
  • Charity organisations: your hospital may have a WRVS / Friends of your Hospital / Patient Panel – some of these are charities aiming to use money for the benefit of the hospital.  We were successful in Oxford in securing funding from the Oxford Hospitals Charity to help with equipment and resources to promote physical activity on Medical Wards!
  • Research: research and PhD funding has both the advantage of impacting on patient care, but also producing the evidence that your interventions have made a difference. Collecting and sharing consistent data across the NHS will maximise the outcome data and subsequent opportunities across the UK.
  • Local Innovation funds
